Envision is a social mobility charity which works with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds through the vehicle of social action.

Young people from disadvantaged backgrounds often need more opportunities to develop self-belief, social confidence and the personal skills that are the characteristics of successful adults.  Envision brings together local businesses, schools, charities and volunteers to provide a practical learning experience which enables young people to develop the skills they need to succeed in work and life.  In return, young people invest their time in developing projects which give back to the community.

The Buffini Chao Foundation is supporting the Community Apprentice Health programme in Birmingham for the second year running.  This programme is supporting young people to develop behavioural campaigns that will positively impact the health and wellbeing of their peers and tackle some of the biggest health challenges within the city.

Through a series of interschool challenges, young people work with an Envision Coach and volunteer business mentors to develop their social action campaigns and hone their transferable skills over the 10 month project.

“The donation from the Buffini Chao Foundation has allowed us to support over 50 young people on the Community Apprentice Health Programme over the past 2 years.  Each young person has gained vital skills in teamwork, communication, grit and creative thinking; all whilst doing something positive for their local community.” – Envision

“Envision has helped me believe in myself and has given me the confidence to do things that I never thought I would be able to do.”  – Student from Swanshurst School
