In October 2019, First Give held its #FirstFive Celebration, bringing together students, teachers, charities and supporters to mark five successful years of the First Give programme.
Held at long-standing partner school Mulberry Academy Shoreditch in Tower Hamlets, London, the evening began with refreshments and a social action fair. This saw students from across England and Wales hosting creative and innovative stalls to represent their chosen charities and fundraise for them. All the students involved grabbed this opportunity with both hands (quite literally in some cases) and were eager to engage guests in conversation about their First Give social action projects and why they’d chosen their charities.
The evening culminated in a brief ceremony, featuring speeches from one of First Give’s founding funders, Sir Trevor Pears, the Director, Louisa Searle and of course performances from passionate and articulate young people about their causes.
It was an uplifting and inspiring way to mark First Give’s #FirstFive years. Sir Damon Buffini has been a keen supporter of this charity for the past four years, and the Buffini Chao Foundation can’t wait to see what the next five years bring!
