First Give encourages young people to make a positive contribution to the causes they care about.
Through a unique combination of in-lesson learning and real-world experiences, secondary school students are given the opportunity to deliver creative and effective social action projects in support of local charities they connect with. In each school the programme culminates in a celebratory School Final, where one class wins a bonus £1,000 for their chosen charity. Through the course of the programme, all students will have learned research and presentation skills and raised money, awareness and volunteered for their chosen causes.
The Buffini Chao Foundation has supported First Give since 2015 and was one of its first supporters beyond the founding funders. Each year, the Foundation supports a select number of schools across Greater London and Wales.
This means that year on year the Foundation supports around 1,000 students, allowing them to benefit from the programme and support local charities which have benefited from charitable grants since the partnership began.
